The project intends to integrate the Life Cycle Assessment approach to the field of building management, starting from the calculation tool created during the project EduFootprint.

Context:

The 2021 Annual Sustainable Growth Strategy has identified in Renovation of the building a priority for i recovery plans national. The funds of Recovery they will therefore be essential for public administrations to put into practice integrated strategies for the management of public buildings that have an environmental impact in terms of energy consumption.

Project objectives:

The main objective of EDUFOOTPRINT PLUS is to improve the skills of public administrations in calculating theenvironmental footprint of the activities in their buildings. To do this, the project will use the calculation tool developed during EduFootprint, which is based on the use of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) calculated on the service performed in public buildings.

The project will transfer a full set of tested tools e shared parameters at a transnational level capable of indicating a sustainable path in the management of energy consumption in public buildings. This approach will make it possible to evaluate improvements not only in relation to direct energy consumption and the related environmental impacts, but also indirect ones, such as, for example, choices on transport methods or for the purchase of goods and services that are necessary for the functioning of the activities carried out.

The instruments subject to the transfer actions will also be integrated with the system local sustainable energy planning and with the related improvement actions in terms of climate change mitigation and adaptation.
