The project:

Urbanization is a constantly growing phenomenon, which often causes the transformation of green areas into gray and concreted spaces. This Urban sprawl accelerates the negative effects of climate changesuch as urban heat islands. The GreenScape-CE project aims to reverse the trend by restoring greenery to urban areas.
The project intends to strengthen planning skills and experiment the application of nature-based solutions (NBS) and of approaches to green infrastructure in five cities, which are significantly affected by urban heat island effects.
