The project:
PV4Plants promotes the synergy between agriculture and the energy sector thanks to an innovative agrivoltaic technology to improve cultivation conditions and land use efficiency, yield and energy production of renewable energy.
Its system is based on optical engineering, a real-time multi-indicator monitoring system and an improvement of the microclimate under the agrivoltaic panels for improve crop health and yieldwhile producing renewable energy.

Project objectives:
• Create a framework of knowledge adaptable to engage end users inimplementation of agrivoltaics and to promote synergies between agricultural and photovoltaic infrastructures.
• Develop a methodology for remote services highly replicable to evaluate the performance of crops under different light spectrum conditions and light conditions.
• Adapt the initial modular project of PV4Plants to the specific needs of pilot projects and implement agriPV system based on glass-based color converters (GCC) and bifacial solar panels.
• Proactive Facility Control and Operations (PFCO) to optimize the functioning of the agriPV system.
• Increase the recyclability and the reuse of materials during the entire life cycle of the agriPV system and propose models of local circular economy.
• Demonstrate agriPV system solutions under different conditions (e.g. climate, geography, solar irradiation, type of crops, etc.)
• Develop a proposal for EU policy makers to develop an EU-wide framework for agri-voltaic projects
