The project:
UrbanGreenLeap, Advancing Green Infrastructure in Small and Medium Cities, is an Interreg project aimed at supporting small and medium-sized Mediterranean cities in promoting adaptation to climate change, preventing natural hazards and strengthening resilience. A growing number of cities are facing challenges related to climate change, pollution and excessive urbanization.
Over the course of 33 months (from 1 April 2025 to 31 December 2027), the project aims to strengthen the capacity of local authorities to sustainably manage green spaces, promote citizen participation, develop Urban Green Plan for integrate biodiversity e Strengthen urban green infrastructure in order to reduce the impact of climate change.

Project objectives:
The project foresees the achievement of several key results, including strategies to improve professional skills in the urban green sector, the drafting of six Urban Nature Plan and the implementation of pilot actions to test and disseminate sustainable practices.
The project brings together 10 partners from EU and non-EU countries, each with expertise and experience in the field of sustainability, to develop innovative solutions in the field of urban green infrastructure. The project leader is the Municipality of Celje (Slovenia).
