The project:
URBANOME aims to build a common European framework to evaluate the multisectoral urban policies, supporting the approach Health in all Policies of the WHO. The overall goal of URBANOME it is to promote health, well-being and urban livability, through the systematic integration of the theme of health into urban policies and citizens' activities.
Integrating health, environmental stressors and social equality into public and private activities helps alleviate a wide range of contemporary urban challenges, especially social cohesion and health inequality, and promotes the transition of cities towards sustainable, climate-proof, smart and inclusive urban economies.
The URBANOME approach will be applied through pilot projects built by Urban Living Labs in Aarhus, Athens, Aberdeen, Madrid, Milan, Ljubljana, Stuttgart, Paris and Thessaloniki.

Project objectives:
To achieve this general objective, URBANOME has the following specific objectives:
- Develop an integrated methodological framework, a computational ecosystem of big data and a decision support system that takes into account the physical, mental, socio-economic, operational and structural characteristics of a city that influence human health;
- Provide accurate spatial and temporal resolution of environmental exposures in a personalized manner and identify i models of environmental inequalities socio-spatial to improve social cohesion;
- study theimpact of environmental stressors on mental, cognitive, social and physical well-being in particular on vulnerable population groups, including hard-to-reach citizens, and considering gender differences;
- Increase the public awareness of urban health and well-being and engaging city dwellers through Urban Living Labs (ULL);
- Building strong partnerships with urban health stakeholders, including politicians, experts, local authorities, businesses and local communities with the aim of linking research to citizens' practical needs and demands;
- Develop and promote one governance and effective urban planning, innovative and inclusive, adapted to urban contexts to promote long-term health and well-being in cities;
- Provide predictive indicators of the effect of environmental stressors on major non-communicable diseases;
- Establish an evaluation framework to quantify the cost-effectiveness of identified policy actions that aim to support urban development and city planning towards improved health, urban well-being and social cohesion. Identify the barriers and factors that facilitate its implementation;
- Creation new business opportunities (in mobility, entertainment, culture, etc.) aimed at improving urban health and well-being, through the co-creation and co-maintenance of sustainable, egalitarian and healthy cities.
